The In2Books Rubric is an essential and exciting part of the curriculum. The rubric helps teachers informally assess student work, enabling them to make data driven instructional decisions on an ongoing basis. Examining the student letters is low pressure on the students and high yield for the teachers. The rubric is instructional and developmental. It includes seven separately scored features: reading comprehension, thinking, communication, organization, sentence structure, word usage, and grammar.
